So Skagway itself is pretty boring… you can walk through the entire town in 30 minutes. Luckily we found some guys promoting their new Zip-line. We decided to go for it. We put the kiddos in Club Hal, and jumped in a generic white van. The long ride (45 min) out of town was a bit disconcerting, as the release paperwork that they had us sign looked like it had been balled up and thrown on the floor. From the base camp, we jumped in a custom unimog which took us to the equipment camp another 15 minutes away and up a rather steep incline. After donning brand-spanking new equipment, we were a bit skeptical. We went through a training session on our equipment and hand signals. Then it was time to take the jump. Needless to say, we survived. Most importantly though, we all had a major blast and would recommend Alaska Excursions to anyone looking for a great zip line adventure. The scenery was spectacular and the guides were amazing. 5 stars all the way (we’re pretty sure they’ve perfected their release forms since our visit back in May). Check out our pics and video!
